Rich History to Discover

Welcome! My name is Belinda Alexander-Ashley and I am an independent researcher, writer and budding genealogist. As I conduct research for my books, I discover interesting historical tidbits that I’d like to share with my readers. It is my hope that you too will find the information interesting and inspires you to explore further.

During my research of Rage that Spans Generations, I discovered a hidden gem at the 1863 Honey Springs Battlefield and Visitor’s Center located at 423159 E. 1030 Road, Checotah, OK 74426. This was a culturally diverse, pivotal Civil War battle that took place on July 17, 1863. Learn more about the Black, White, Indian and Mexican troops that fought along the Texas Road, a vital to transportation through Indian Territory.
