Community and Collective Healing

Why it matters: Both African and Indigenous worldviews see healing as communal, not individual. The wound belongs to the community, so does the repair.

Practices:

  • Host healing circles, storytelling gatherings, or intergenerational workshops.
  • Participate in drumming circles, sweat lodges, or talking circles – these traditional spaces restore harmony between self, ancestors, and the collective.
  • Creative community gardens or sacred spaces on ancestral land. Reconnection with the Earth heals both body and lineage.

Indigenous wisdom teaches that “healing the land heals the people.”
